Original Sin has finally found its way to Amazing Spider-Manimagessp4 and Daredevil this week! What did Peter Parker see when the Orb unleashed the Watcher’s eyeball and everything it had witnessed on the heroes of New York?

The answer is SILK! Someone else was bitten by the same radioactive spider that gave Peter his powers years ago! Where has she been all this time? What does this mean for Peter? And most importantly, is she friend or foe!? This issue has a lot going on; we are introduced to this new mysterious character known as Silk, while Felicia is still hell-bent on getting her revenge on Spider-Man.

Spider-Man has some great comedic moments and the one that stood out to me was when he meets up with the Avengers. In the scene, Peter is trying to explain the Doc Ock mind swap to them and absolutely no one has any clue or even the slightest care what he is rambling on about. It’s just a classic Peter scene which makes me so glad he is back; I was desperately missing scenes like this when Ock was in control.

I love how this issue while being an event tie in, maintains the current plotlines in the book while also continuing to drop hints about the upcoming spider event: Spider-Verse. I was hoping the Electro and Black Cat storyline wouldn’t take too much of a backseat during the Original Sin tie in issues and so far Slott has done a good job of maintaining the two different story lines (Opening Arc and Original Sin).

Ramos’ art is top notch. I’ll never get sick of his work. Or the way he draws peter/Spider-Man. I really enjoy his character designs for Silk, her costume is pretty rad. I hope he sticks with Slott on this book for a while. I think he is doing some of the best work of his career on this Superior Spider-Man – Amazing Spider-Man run.

Rating: 7 (out of 7) – Amazing writing and art. This is an excellent Original Sin tie in. Looking forward to seeing more Silk!
