Comic Book Dictionary: Shielded
Being a comic book fan, there is a certain amount of jargon and buzzwords that we are accustomed to. Being hardcore comic book fans though, there are also terms that are coined along the way that have special meaning only to the most hardcore readers.

Shielded – Being tied into a larger universe, but being on the lower end of the totem pole so very little of consequence occurs.
This can happen in cross-media projects as well as in comics. For examples see Agents of SHIELD, MTV Spider-man, Batman: Gotham Knight, and most tie-in comics to major events.
