Superman Vs Batman: World’s Finest Fights

The concept of Batman V Superman isn’t new. For the past 30 years, Batman and Superman have engaged in battles against each other a handful of time. While most of these fights have taken place in the pages of the comics, there battles have occasionally spilled out to other avenues. Today, we’re going to take a look at all the times that these two titans of comics have come to blows.

Superman/Batman: World’s Finest – The first time the two heroes met in animation was during the The New Adventures of Batman/Superman The Animated Series. While their encounter wasn’t long, some shots were exchanged and more importantly, identities were revealed.

The Batman: The Batman/Superman Story – Much like the idea of Batman vs Superman not being new, the idea that Lex Luthor meddles with their dynamic isn’t a wholly new idea either. First explored in animation on The Batman, here we see a Batman trying desperately to hang with Superman attempting to kill him.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold: Battle of the Superheroes! – Kryponite has been around for a long arse time in the Superman mythos, but green isn’t the only green. When Superman is exposed to some Red K, he becomes a bit of a dictator and it’s up to Batman to get his mind right in this fight.

The Dark Knight Returns – Perhaps the most iconic battle between Superman and Batman finally leapt off the pages of the comics and into animation with this adaption of The Dark Knight Returns. Unlike many other encounters, there’s no puppet pulling the strings or even K to be involved. Instead, it’s man vs god as Superman looks to rein in The Batman.

Justice League War – What is it with heroes meeting for the first time and coming to blows? Justice League War depicts the first time, anyone from the superhero community has run into Superman and what we end up with is a pretty fun 3 way battle between Superman, Batman and the Green Lantern.
