#FebFaves: Favorite Legal Drama

I will be the first to admit, my tastes can be fairly simplistic. I like when my movies have explosions, fist fights, car chases and one-liners. Yet there are movies that capture my attention in completely different and human ways. “A Few Good Men” is one of those movies that I can’t quite explain my love of… in terms of what draws me in early and keeps me hooked, but viewing after viewing I find myself glued to the case and everything surrounding it.

In the heart of the nation’s capital, in a courthouse of the U.S. government, one man will stop at nothing to keep his honor, and one will stop at nothing to find the truth.

The performances of Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson are pretty iconic. Especially considering that Jack is probably in the film for 15-20 minutes.

I want to make special mention of the judge, J.A Preston, after revisiting “A Few Good Men,” I also checked out “My Cousin Vinny” for the first time, and watching both back-to-back just highlighted how important it is casting the right person as the judge. Someone who has to control the room with just their voice and mannerisms, and he does a terrific job in key scenes without ever taking the shine off of the stars.
