Sips and Flicks: 2020 Presidential Election Drinks
After what feels like a million years, we have entered the home stretch of the 2020 Presidential Election. As early voting begins in many states, the two prime candidates are looking to make their final cases to the American people with debates. The first of which will take place on September 29th (followed by two more on October 15th and October 22nd), and if you’re like us (and probably the rest of America), you’ll want to watch the debate… but maybe in an altered state. Which is why we’re proud to offer 3 unique cocktails to really show your red, white and blue spirits!
Orange Menace – The President has spent the last 4 years finding new and unusual ways to punish those who he thinks lesser of including minorities, women, LGBTQ, urban residents, migrants and the list goes on and on. We think a drink with a bit of a kick and a lot of regret was most fitting.
- 1/4 oz triple sec
- 3/4 oz jager
- 1/2 oz vodka
- 3 oz OJ
Combine all the ingredients into a shaker with ice, shake well and then strain into a glass of your choice.
The Orange Menace with a bit of flourish.
Blue Wave – 2018’s midterm elections proved to be a mostly solid night for Democrats and a way for the country to slow the hurt just a bit. Everyone is hoping that momentum carries forward to this year’s election and to ride the wave of hope is our “Blue Wave” drink.
- 2 oz Blueberry juice
- 1/4 oz triple sec
- 1/4 oz gin
- 1/4 oz white rum
- 1/2 oz melon
Combine with ice, shake and strain into a glass and feel the flavors meld together.
Will the Blue Wave wash over us once more in 2020?
Drain the Swamp – Much like the President’s promise in 2016 election, Drain the Swamp will leave you wondering what is going on.
- 1 oz melon liqueur & 3 oz Orange Juice
- 1 oz Jager in shot glass
Mix the Melon liqueur and orange juice together in a glass. Place the shot of Jager on top of the drink. Drink up and don’t call us in the morning.
We don’t know how this Drains the swamps either.
