Sips and Flicks: Mortal Kombat Kocktails
As we prepare to enter the Kombat arena once more in Mortal Kombat (2021), we wanted to give folks some colorful kocktails to go along with their viewing.
It’s time to choose your fighter among the variety of Kombat-ready mixed drinks for you.
Scorpion Sting – The hero of Scorpion’s Revenge, The Scorpion Sting will leave you feeling toasty!
- Ice in a whiskey glass
- 3/4oz Fireball
- 1/4oz Triple Sec
- 1oz Vodka
- 1oz Pineapple juice
- top with ginger beer
It’s hot in the throat, and it’s got a good bite to it that stays with you a while. Adjust heat with more or less Fireball, and bite with more or less Ginger Beer.
Reptilian Smash – Always lurking in the shadows, Reptile is ready for a sneak attack on your stomach with the yummy concoction.
- 3/4oz Melon
- 1/4oz Triple Sec
- 1oz Vodka, a couple of lime wedges to muddle up.
- Top with 50/50 Pineapple juice & Lemon/Lime Soda
It won’t leave you feeling green, but the Reptilian Smash is a refreshing drink.
Permafrost – Sub-Zero and Lin Kuei clan have been a part of the Mortal Kombat lore since the first entry and we wanna respect the lineage with a frosty drink.
- Muddle up a few leaves of mint with a lemon and lime wedge in your glass, add ice
- 1oz Vodka
- 1/2oz Blue Curaçao
- Top with Spicy Ginger Beer
A drink that won’t leave you frozen in place, the Permafrost is a fun and playful drink with plenty of color. 
Kano Ball – The Aussie who is just a throne in the side of Sonya Blade will now always be a pain going down. Kano Ball is unique or being the only shot on the list. You got to go big for Kano!
- A Shot of Jager
- A whiskey glass of Spicy Ginger Beer
- Place the shot in the glass and enjoy together.
Australians love their Jager and they love their ginger beer, as one Ms. Montana use to sing about, it’s the best of both worlds.
Dragon’s Breath – The original Chosen One of the Mortal Kombat franchise, Liu Kang has been through it, eh? The Dragon’s Breath packs a mighty kick much like our favorite Shaolin Monk.
- In a shaker tin with ice combine 1 3/4oz Cinnamon Whiskey (Fireball)
- 1/4oz Triple Sec
- 2oz Pineapple Juice
- 1/2oz Lychee Juice
- A little bit of coconut syrup/colada mix for frothy sweetness
- Shake it up and pour into cocktail glass, or over ice.
With the Fireball you’d think it would get gross, but its hidden among the attack of flavours the rest of the drink gives you.
