Marvel Expands Netflix Presence – Nerds on the Rocks

Marvel Expands Netflix Presence

Marvel, who already has a few of its shows on insta-stream including Iron Man Armored Adventures and various volumes of Spectacular Spider-man, have announced plans to expand their presence on the service throughout the year.

Starting tomorrow, April 29th, with the release of :

  • The Incredible Hulk (1996-97)
  • Spider-Man Unlimited (1999-2001)
  • Iron Man: Extremis β€” Marvel Knights Animation (2010)
  • Astonishing X-Men: Gifted  — Marvel Knights Animation (2010)
  • Spider-Woman: Agent of the S.W.O.R.D. β€” Marvel Knights Animation (2010)
  • Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes (2006)
  • Silver Surfer (1998)
  • Black Panther β€” Marvel Knights Animation (2010)
  • Iron Man: Armored Adventures Season 1 (2009)

Which is a fine mixture of their older cartoons and newer projects, but things get more exciting during the summer as classic hits including the Fox Spider-man series hit the service. A show that hasn’t really been out in the open in years as Marvel has yet to release DVD box sets of the series.

  • Marvel Action Hour: Iron Man (1994-96)
  • The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! Season 1 (2010)
  • X-Men Evolution (2000-3)
  • X-Men (1992-7)
  • Spider-Man (1994-β€˜98)
  • Spider-Man (1967-β€˜68)
  • Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends (1981)
  • Spider-Man (1981-β€˜82)

In addition to the classic Fox Spider-man series, we also get Spider-man and his Amazing Friends and the original Spider-man cartoon with the bad-ass theme song. And its nice to see that Marvel will be including its current series, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on the service as well!

Finally, Marvel digs into the way back machine to produce these classic series during the fall:

  • Iron Man (1966)
  • Thor (1966)
  • Captain America (1966)
  • Hulk (1966)
  • Sub-Mariner (1966)

Should be a treat for fans new and old.

DC currently offers up select DTV for instant-stream, but one must wonder when will they begin to offer full seasons of their hit shows?
