Video Game: Name That Tune Vol 1

Video game music is such a vital part of the gaming experience, but often times goes unrecognized in the industry. We wanted to celebrate the role of video game music, but weren’t quite sure how to do it. Then sometime this week, we got the great idea to research the impact of music on this generation and wanted to properly research it. Usually, we would start up a poll on the site and have you vote, but we wanted to make it a bit more fun this time.

So welcome to the first ever NoTR Video Game: Name That Tune! Below you will find ~5 second snippets from 50 games. And we want you to figure them all out! Let’s check out the rulebook!

Just some ground rules for the contest.

  • It will end Midnight EST on Saturday October 13th.
  • You are allowed to send in submissions as often as you like. Only your last one will count and needs to include all of your answers.
  • Every song featured is from a game from this generation. For the purpose of this exercise, this generation is defined as games released on the PS3, 360, Wii, DS, PSP and mobile/tablet/PC from 2005 until now.
  • Be specific as you can be. For the most part, no franchise is represented more than once on the list so if you can name the specific game it goes a long way.
  • To enter your submission, drop us an e-mail at DW@Nerdsontherocks.com
  • A prize is being considered, most likely a $10 card to a downloadable service of your choice. Either to  first person who correctly guesses all 50 first, or whoever guessed the most correctly at the end of the deadline.
