It’s Valentine’s Day! Celebrate With These Love Songs

In honor of Valentine’s Day I figured I would present the top love songs for all of you love birds out there! So gentlemen, if you forgot it’s already the 14th put these songs on a cd and pray that it is enough to make you Valentine happy. I really was thinking over this list for a long time, and wanted to get a decent mix of songs in here. I found myself trying to narrow it down to ten songs. I was surprised to see that I have a lot of “older” songs. It’s not surprising because it seems like love songs these days can not really compete with the classics!

10. In My Life — The Beatles
This song is just a classic song by The Beatles. We all seem to have special memories of places and the people we spent them with. While some memories seem to fade we always hold on to the ones where we spent them with a special person in our life. This is something I feel that this song speaks of. Thanks to the 4 boys from Liverpool, who had the love of every female!

9. You Are So Beautiful — Joe Cocker
What is so special about this song is when Joe did it, no one expected he could sing a song like this. They we used to his deep raspy voice, and when he preformed this it blew people away. This song is short and sweet, while getting the point across. It doesn’t matter how you look to the world, as long as you are happy and beautiful to the one that loves you, and the one you love in return.

8. Wonderful Tonight — Eric Clapton
The guitar into is very classic Clapton, and something that should just melt hearts alone. I really enjoy the female vocals toward the end of the song. The man just loves the girl regardless of what she is wearing and is happy to just be spending an evening with her.

7. Up Where We Belong — Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes
I did not want to have the same artist in here twice. Joe did two great songs that could not be ignored. Love is something that can take people to a whole new level. We have to live our lives in the present and realize that the journey is tough, but we will finally reach our goal. A lot of times we need that special someone to share the journey with and help us get to the peak!

6. Only Exception — Paramore
There are so many times when we swear off love forever, and do not want to trust in anyone again. That is until we meet that special someone. That person shows us how to love and that we can trust in love again. That person a lot of times is unexpected and we realize we are opening up. This person is our only exception the one person who can make us want to be a better person.

5. Time After Time — Cyndi Lauper
When you can’t get that special person out of your head, you realize that they are truly special. This song is played in most love type movies, that person is there to pick you up when you fall. The chorus is just so catchy and classic.

4. Iris — The Goo Goo Dolls
By far the best song this band has done. Musically this song is just amazing, from the guitar to the drum. You just need to open up, the world might not understand your love, but who’s to tell you what is right and what is wrong when it comes to love. The best part of this song is the instrumental part, and when the song really picks up. I like to imagine it is how love is. You start out slower, not knowing if it is real or not, then it really picks up and you get excited because you now know what you have is real.

3. Yellow — Coldplay
Say what you will about Coldplay, but this song is beautiful. The song is really about being 100% committed to someone. Doing anything and anything for them. You want to do nothing but make them happy. This song is beautiful, the stars shinning for that person, mean that they are the center of your universe!

2. Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing — Aerosmith
“Every moment I spend with you is a moment I treasure.” Just being around this person is what makes life complete. What else can be said this song really is just perfect, you know every time you watch Armageddon you smile when this song comes on.

1. Can You Feel the Love Tonight — Elton John
There is only one song that can top “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” Elton John has such a perfect voice for this song. “There’s a time for everyone if they only learn
that the twisting kaleidoscope moves us all in turn” I want to just finish this by say, that this lyric tells us to not give up on love, there is a time and place for everyone to fine some one. While you might not have a Valentine this year, don’t get down. You will find someone!
