Dragon Age: The Anime

BioWare and FUNimation have come to terms to release an anime movie based on the best selling game.

BioWare(TM), an Electronic Arts Inc.(ERTS 15.66, -0.15, -0.95%) studio, and FUNimation Entertainment, the leading distributor of Japanese animation in North America, announced today an agreement to create an anime feature film adapted from BioWare’s critically-acclaimed fantasy Action RPG franchise Dragon Age(TM). Production of the Dragon Age anime movie is slated to begin in May 2010, with a home video release in 2011. Executive producing the film are BioWare’s Executive Producer Mark Darrah and Creative Director Mike Laidlaw, as well as FUNimation’s Fukunaga and Director of Original Entertainment Chris Moujaes.

The combination of a western based property getting an anime treatment has shown successful in the past with such hits as Batman: Gotham Knights and more recently Halo Legends. Let’s hope that Bioware and FUNimation has the same success.

Well hopefully they don’t do what they did in that one small portion of Gotham Knight where we had pretty boy Bruce Wayne.

It would be funny if they poked fun at the whole possibility of male-male relationships.

I’ve seen some pretty funny videos with that stuff from Dragon Age.
