151 Proof Hangover: Disaster Movie
[After creating and then testing the drinking rules, Swan and Penguin recap their adventures with the movie. Offering their thoughts on the quality of the film itself, as well as how the drinking rules held up, and if worth using.]
Sadly, the most painful thing about doing 151 Proof Movies is hardly ever the drinking. We tend to consume a decent amount of liquor and beer while watching any one film, but are generally fine.. but the mental scarring left by some movies…
With that said… Disaster Movie review!

Where do I even begin with this movie? I knew I would not like it, I just knew it. These movies are the death of humour, replacing jokes with references to things that may have been funny. In this whole film I believe there might have only been a handful of honest to god jokes. And surprisingly I released a laugh at one of these jokes. Was it actually funny or was I just that desperate for a laugh that I would chuckle at anything even resembling humour?
I could not answer that question and I CAN not recommend this thing to anybody, unless you go into it six beers like I did.

NO! JUST NO!Â
Don’t watch this movie. Don’t think of watching this movie.
I’ll give you a brief synopsis
The Dark Knight. Hellboy. Iron Man. Sex and the City. Hannah Montana. Juno. Amy Winehouse. Jumper. Cows. Night at the Museum.
If this makes no sense to you, welcome to watching the film!

My opinion on the drinking for this film is a bit jaded as I was six beers deep before the movie even started, so I definitely felt the effects of this movie more than others. As I said before I did laugh once that was one shot, I think it was only one shot. Drinking for every reference was a killer for sure, as it has been for all of them. Really every one of our rules except for the Disaster one managed some good mileage, causing me to crush another 5 drinks in the 90 or so minutes this thing ran for.

I have a confession… I laughed once during this film.. I feel like my film-watching license should be revoked if such a thing existed anyhow!
Aside from the single shot for laughing about the film, the drinks did flow well throughout the movie. It was HEAVY on references, both dated and non-disaster movie based. Actually, there was very few references to Disaster movies, either that or I haven’t seen enough of them to make a connection.Â
Disaster Movie isn’t worth watching. The drinks you can get elsewhere, and the entertainment could be had poking your eyes out as often as you like!
Skip this movie!
