For Your Consideration: Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance – Best Visual Effects

Every year the Academy Awards picks winners in a host of categories from Best Picture to Best Score, and every year there is a plethora of movies that are left off the shortlist to even be nominated. Here at Nerds on the Rocks, we are looking to rectify that situation by sharing with you some movies, actors, scores and the works that we felt were snubbed during their year of release. Welcome to, “For Your Consideration.”

For Your Consideration

Best Visual Effects – Creative-Cartel

Movie – Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance

Release Year – 2012

In my opinion, fire is one of those visual effects that always seems off in movies. I get that due to the extreme nature and unpredictability of fire you want to avoid using equipment and having actors near it. But there’s something about real fire that really heightens a scene. And in 2012, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance used it in such a commercially viable way that propelled the movie to one of the comic book movies released in 2012! See for yourself below.
